1967 Pontiac GTO Pickup
Originally built as a 1967 GTO, this concept car is a combination of the GTO and 1967 El Camino. Often the question is asked, " Did General Motors actually build this car?" The correct answer is "No", but I have had many folks tell me, "Yes, I remember seeing one of those in a Pontiac showroom." I just chuckle to myself, as I politely listen to their story of seeing one or knowing someone that owned one.
This pickup was built by Darrel Yoder, a good friend for many years. It was Darrel's idea, that if Pontiac had built a GTO pickup, this is what it would have looked like. Darrel started with a PHS documented GTO and an El Camino, cutting off the rear section of the GTO behind the doors and grafting in the El Camino roof and bed. Parts used in construction were GM NOS parts. The car is powered by a 455cu.in. engine, transmitting power to the rear wheels thru a TH-400 transmission. Equipped with air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, tilt wheel, AM/FM radio, power windows, and Ram Air, this car is a real pleasure to show. The car is equipped with the ultra rare red fender well liners. Unfortunately, the shadows in the wheel wells do not show the liners. Hurst wheels really add to the finishing touch.

Picture does not do justice to this beautiful Tyrol Blue Metallic paint .
